ENERGY SECTOR

COGENERATION PLANT REVITALIZATION

Subcontractor to HMI Construction on an Index Energy project in the town of Ajax, Ontario, for the revitalization of a 17.8 MW biomass cogeneration plant.


The $16,000,000 project took 24 months and 65,000 hours to complete, and included the preparation of drawings, fabrication of piping and the complete mechanical installation of equipment supporting three turbines, such as eight cooling water towers, two 175-ton steam boilers, an electrostatic precipitator, underground cooling water supply, natural gas network, steam, condensate and more.

RACKS, STEAM NETWORK AND CONDENSATE

Fabrication and installation of racks and a 5.5 km steam and condensate network in Bécancour, supplying various plants as part of the TransCanada Energy and SNC-Lavalin cogeneration project.

STAVE FALLS DAM IN BRITISH COLUMBIA

Replacement of radial gate operating mechanisms at Stave Falls Dam in British Columbia.

HYDRO-QUEBEC IN BEAUHARNOIS

Demolition of the roof substation at Hydro-Quebec's Beauharnois Dam.

Fabrication and installation of the structure for Grantec's new plant in Contrecoeur, Quebec, requiring 300 tons of steel.

MECHANICAL INSTALLATION OF NEW HANDLING SYSTEM

Mechanical installation of the new bulk material handling system at the Quebec Stevedoring Company's port facilities, including over 1,200 meters of belt conveyors, a ship loader and an ore stacker.

Mechanical installation of a debarking system at Kruger's mill in Crabtree, Quebec.

Installation of an anaerobic effluent treatment system for Tembec in Matane, Quebec.

KILDAIR

Fabrication and installation of an underground heavy oil pipeline at Kildair in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, totalling 8,000 ft (2.44 km) of piping.

ULTRAMAR PIPELINE

Fabrication and installation of 22 booster stations for the Ultramar pipeline between Quebec City and Montreal.

FABRICATION FOR HORTON CBI

Fabrication for Horton CBI of oil sands piping assemblies in Alberta for oil processing systems at Shell Albian Sands, Suncor Energy, Imperial Oil. Piping up to 42" diameter, occasionally requiring chrome or rubber lining. Projects requiring pre-assembly in the workshop before delivery to site.
